How to Clean Your Stainless Steel Pipe

With the promotion of stainless steel pipes, buyers often ask what method should be used to clean stainless steel pipes? Next, let's briefly introduce it.

1. Chemical methods for cleaning stainless steel pipe

(1) Solvents and emulsions can be used to clean the surface of steel to achieve the effect of removing oil, grease, dust, lubricants and similar organic matter, but it cannot remove rust, oxide scale, welding flux, etc. on the surface of steel, so it is only used as an auxiliary technique in cleaning stainless tube pipes.

(2) Stainless steel pipe pickling: Generally, two methods of chemical and electrolysis can be used to pickle stainless tube pipes. Only chemical pickling is used for pipeline anticorrosion, which can effectively remove oxide scale, rust and old coatings. Sometimes it can also be used as a reprocessing after sandblasting and rust removal. Although chemical cleaning can make the appearance reach a certain degree of cleanliness and roughness, its anchor lines are shallow and easily pollute the environment.

2. Physical methods for cleaning stainless steel pipe

(1) Stainless steel pipe derusting: In the process of derusting and cleaning stainless tube pipes, you can first use wire brushes and other things to polish the steel surface, so that the loose or warped oxide scale, rust, welding slag, etc. of the stainless tube pipe can be removed first. Manual descaling can reach Sa2 level, and power tool descaling can reach Sa3 level.

(2) Stainless steel pipe spraying (throwing) rust removal is driven by a high-power motor to drive the spraying (throwing) blades to rotate at a high speed, so that steel grit, steel shot, iron wire segments, minerals and other abrasives are spraying (throwing) processed on the surface of the stainless steel square pipe under the effect of centrifugal force. Such cleaning can not only completely remove rust, oxides and dirt, but also make the stainless steel square tube reach the required uniform roughness under the effect of strong abrasive impact and friction.

In addition, after spraying (throwing) to remove rust, the physical adsorption effect of the stainless steel pipe surface can also be further improved. Therefore, spraying (throwing) rust removal is an ideal rust removal method for stainless steel pipes. Generally speaking, shot blasting (sand) rust removal is mainly used for the internal and external surface treatment of stainless steel pipes, and shot blasting (sand) rust removal is mainly used for the external surface treatment of stainless steel pipes.
