It is well known that stainless steel weld tubes have strong corrosion resistance. If used improperly, it will accelerate the corrosion of stainless steel weld tube fittings. As an environmentally friendly pipe material, stainless steel weld tubes are widely used. However, in order to extend its service life, attention should be paid to improving the corrosion resistance of stainless steel weld tubes during use. So, let's learn about it together!
Stainless steel weld tubes have the characteristics of high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, so what are the conditions for its corrosion resistance? The properties of stainless steel materials are determined by their structure and performance, and external factors also play an important role in their use. Changes in many factors can lead to damage to the passivation film on the surface of stainless steel.
Pitting corrosion, also known as hole corrosion, is a form of electrochemical corrosion. This type of corrosion is mainly due to the fact that the stainless steel weld tube fittings material is located in an environment where dust or foreign metal particles of other metal structural elements are suspended, and is in humid air. They are connected to a chemical battery with a certain amount of water medium, triggering an electrochemical reaction, severely damaging the passivation protective film on the surface of stainless steel, leading to corrosion problems.
For stainless steel products used in daily life, their surfaces are easily adhered to organic matter, such as fruits and vegetables, soup, etc. Under certain conditions of water oxygen and air, it is easy to form organic acids, and prolonged retention will cause corrosion of the metal surface. Therefore, stainless steel products need to be cleaned frequently to prevent corrosion.
Only by understanding the characteristics of stainless tube pipes and avoiding corrosion can the service life of stainless steel weld tubes be effectively extended.
Physical strengthening method
Directly use rust preventive oil, that is, film rust preventive oil, to make the surface of stainless steel form a closed film to prevent the surrounding environment from contacting the surface of stainless tube pipes and effectively prevent stainless steel from corroding and rusting. This method has a short rust prevention time, the stainless steel surface is not clean, and not refreshing. The advantage is that the operation is simple and the cost is relatively low.
Reinforcement method
Contact the surface of stainless steel pipes with stainless steel passivation solution to produce a chemical reaction, that is, passivation and rust prevention. Under the action of stainless steel passivation solution, the poor chromium layer of the stainless steel weld tube fittings is transformed into a rich chromium layer, and a layer of chromium trioxide is formed on its surface, thus achieving very strong rust prevention ability. This method is stronger than physical rust preventive oil, and the surface is relatively clean. However, the cost is relatively high.
