Introduction of Three Hardnesses of Stainless Steel Pipe Tubings

As the current mainstream water pipe material, PPR water pipes can be used as both cold water pipes and hot water pipes in daily life. The interface of the PPR pipe adopts hot-melt technology, and the pipes are completely fused together, so once it is installed and pressed, it will not exist for a long time like the aluminum-plastic pipe. As the use time increases, it does not have self-cleaning and sterilizing functions. The PPR plastic material may become a gathering place for secondary pollution of water quality and a breeding ground for bacteria during long-term use, seriously threatening human health.

Stainless steel is a recognized healthy material that can be implanted into the human body, and it is a water supply pipe that is widely used in developed countries. Water pipes made of stainless steel have been successfully applied for many years in developed countries, and have become the current trend and development direction. The stainless steel material is safe and non-toxic, with very stable performance and strong corrosion resistance. It will not cause secondary pollution to the water quality, keep the water pure and hygienic, and fully guarantee the hygiene and safety. It is the best direct drinking water pipe. With the development of the national economy and the improvement of people's living standards, thin-walled stainless steel water pipes and stainless steel pipe fittings have become a new trend in the development of the national water supply pipeline system. Stainless steel pipe tubing is a hollow long round steel that is widely used in various industries. We need to know about its hardness. This article briefly introduces its three hardnesses.

1. Rockwell hardness of stainless steel pipe tubing

The Rockwell hardness test of annealed stainless steel pipe is the same as the Brinell hardness test, which is an indentation test method. The difference is that it measures the depth of the indentation. Rockwell hardness test is a widely used method at present. Among them, HRC is second only to Brinell hardness HB in steel pipe standards. Extremely hard metal material, it makes up for the deficiency of the Brinell method, which is simpler than the Brinell method, and the hardness value can be read directly from the dial of the hardness tester. However, due to its small indentation, the hardness value is not as accurate as the Brinell method.

2. Brinell hardness of stainless steel pipe tubing

Among stainless steel pipe tubing standards, Brinell hardness is the most widely used, and the indentation diameter is often used to express the hardness of the material, which is intuitive and convenient, but it is not suitable for harder or thinner steel pipes.

3. Vickers hardness of stainless steel pipe tubing

Annealed stainless steel tube Vickers hardness test is also an indentation test method, which can be used to determine the hardness of very thin metal materials and surface layers. It has the main advantages of Brinell and Rockwell methods, and overcomes their basic shortcomings, but is not as good as The Rockwell method is simple, and the Vickers method is rarely used in steel pipe standards.
