Precautions for the Production and Processing of Stainless Steel Coils

Stainless steel pipe coils are generally coiled or mosquito coiled elbows with a diameter of 0.5 to 20 mm and a thickness of 0.1 to 2.0 mm. They are widely used in chemical industry, machinery, electronics, electric power, textile, rubber, food, medical equipment, aviation, aerospace, communication, petroleum and other industrial fields. What are the specific matters that need to be paid attention to in production and processing? The following will explain in detail.

1. Can the annealing temperature of the stainless steel pipe coil reach the specified temperature?

The heat treatment of stainless steel pipe coils is generally by solution heat treatment, which is commonly referred to as “annealing”. The temperature range is 1040~1120 °C. It can be observed through the inspection hole of the bright annealing furnace for stainless steel tubes. The stainless steel tube in the annealing zone should be in the incandescent state, but there is no softening and sagging.

2. Annealing atmosphere of stainless steel pipe coil

Pure hydrogen is generally used as the annealing atmosphere, and the purity of the atmosphere is more than 99.99%. If the other part of the atmosphere is an inert gas, the purity can also be lower, but it cannot contain too much oxygen and water vapor.

3. Sealability of stainless steel pipe coil furnace body

The bright annealing furnace should be sealed off from the outside air. When using hydrogen as maintenance gas, only one exhaust port is open (used to ignite the exhausted hydrogen).

The way to reflect can be wiped with soapy water on the cracks of each joint of the annealing furnace to see if the gas can escape. One of the places where gas is easy to run out is the place where the annealing furnace enters the pipe and the place where the pipe comes out. The sealing ring in this place is particularly prone to wear and tear, and it should be checked and replaced frequently.

4. Stainless steel pipe coil maintenance gas pressure

In order to avoid micro-leakage of the stainless steel pipe coil, the maintenance gas in the furnace should maintain a certain positive pressure. If it is hydrogen maintenance gas, it is generally required to be above 20kBar.

5. Water vapor in stainless steel pipe coil furnace

On the one hand, check whether the furnace body material is boring. Install the furnace first and the furnace body material needs to be dried. The second is whether there is too much water stains on the stainless steel pipe coils entering the furnace. If there are holes on the special pipes, do not leak water, otherwise the furnace atmosphere will be completely destroyed.
